The “Village Vibe" shows are located at Base Camp Bar & Grill (Base Village) and Venga Venga (Village Mall). Village Vibe passes allow access to both venues for the night purchased. IMPORTANT – VILLAGE VIBE PASSES DO NOT GAURANTEE ENTRY TO A SPECIFIC SHOW, all venues are first come first serve based on the capacity of each venue. As they fill up, we direct you to whichever venue is not full. As the night goes on, crowds at the Village Vibe tend to rotate, so even if you can't catch the start of the band you want to see, there’s a good chance you can catch the last half of their show.
HINT – if there is one particular band you really want to see, get in line early for the show!

Freddy Jones Band – Free Thursday Night Concert by JAS
Part of The Snowmass Summer of Free Music Series produced by Jazz Aspen Snowmass, the Freddy Jones Band is a roots rock band from Chicago, IL. The band was formed in 1988 by Wayne Healy and Marty Lloyd while attending college in South Bend In. The following year Healy & Lloyd moved to Chicago and began playing as an acoustic trio with childhood friend Jim Bonaccorsi. They self-released their first album, which was later repackaged and released on Capricorn Records in 1994 after scoring a local radio hit with "In a Daydream". They continued to build a fanbase both in the Midwest US and nationwide through tours of colleges. Several albums on Capricorn followed, and 1995’sNorth Ave. Wake-Up Call and 1997’s Lucid both attracted some radio airplay (with the songs "Waitress" and "Mystic Buzz") as well as cracking the upper echelons of the Billboard charts. In 1998, bassist Jim Bonaccorsi and guitar/vocalist Rob Bonaccorsi left the band and were replaced with bassist Mark Murphy. The band went on hiatus in 2001 but returned in 2005, doing shows in Chicago, Milwaukee and other Midwestern cities.

The Dunwells – Free Thursday Night Concert by JAS
Part of The Snowmass Summer of Free Music Series produced by Jazz Aspen Snowmass. Utterly natural. There’s no more fitting description for both the music of The Dunwells as well as the story of their magical rise from the pubs of Leeds to an American record deal and a stunning debut album in just two short years. The group is two brothers, two cousins and totaling five best mates who simply love to sing and play music. Striking an organic blend between acoustic and electric roots music laced by luscious vocal harmonies by all five members, their songs and sound feel both bracingly fresh while at the same time as warm and familiar as a dear long-time friend.

C.J. Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band – Free Friday Night Concert by JAS
NOTE: Due to the holiday, this week’s concert will be held on Friday instead of Thursday!!!
Part of The Snowmass Summer of Free Music Series produced by Jazz Aspen Snowmass. C.J. Chenier is the son of the great King of Zydeco, Clifton Chenier, the first Creole musician to win a Grammy Award. On the road his father showed him how to front a world-class touring band – teaching C.J. how to run the family business and how to develop his lifelong passion for music into a career. When Clifton died in 1987 C.J. adopted the Red Hot Louisiana Band and recorded his debut album. C.J.’s 1995 appearances on the Jon Stewart Show and CNN brought his music to his widest audiences yet. But all this attention didn’t change his philosophy toward his music. “You play zydeco and you see shoes flying off. You can’t come to my show and stay unhappy all night long. You’re going to break a smile and stomp your foot before too long. This is happy music, and it makes you dance.”
Remember: the concert is on FRIDAY this week, not Thursday!

The Revivalists – Free Thursday Night Concert by JAS
Part of The Snowmass Summer of Free Music Series produced by Jazz Aspen Snowmass. Since forming in 2007, The Revivalists have rightfully earned their reputation as the next breakout band from the music capital of New Orleans. The group’s blend of soulful, syncopated rock and earnest songwriting comes to life through a meticulously crafted and ever-evolving live performance. The band incessantly tours on the national level, often times supporting giants like Rebirth Brass Band and Galactic. They have established themselves as an engaging festival act, gaining notoriety at the legendary New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival among others. There they grabbed the attention of Rolling Stone Senior Editor, David Fricke, who called their performance, “a Crescent City-rhythm spin on jam-band jubilee.”

As a bluegrass band that’s anything but traditional, Mountain Standard Time follows in the footsteps of such Colorado greats as The String Cheese Incident and Leftover Salmon.
