RACE CANCELLATION

It is highly unlikely that the Owl Creek Chase and AVSC SuperTour will be cancelled due to weather or snow conditions, but that possibility certainly exists. Under such conditions, every effort will be made to hold the race, but the director reserves the right to delay, shorten or even cancel the event. Because we will have incurred all the race costs prior to the race, there will be no refunds due to cancellation.

The Colorado Freeride Championships (CFC) is a big mountain competition featuring both men and women skiers and snowboarders. Some of the biggest names in the industry come out to play on the cliff-littered terrain of Snowmass, creating a wild show for spectators.

The qualifying event is open to the public, skiers and snowboarders, men & women, 16 years or older (athletes under the age of 18 will need to have a parent present to sign the waiver). The events will be held on Snowmass' famed Hanging Valley Headwall and Burn Side Cliffs, steep faces littered with rocks, cliffs and hanging snowfields.

Spectators can watch the qualifying day of action from the base of the Hanging Valley Headwall (expert terrain) and catch the finals on the Burnside Cliffs from the deck of Gwyn’s High Alpine.

Please note that for competitors that are non-passholders a race ticket is available for purchase on both days of the competition. E-mail Cat Leonaitis: cleonaitis@aspensnowmass.com for any questions about this event.
